Legendary frontman of the 80’s Metal Band Twisted Sister and star of the A&E reality series “Growing Up Twisted,” Dee Snider, was among the rock celebrities walking the red carpet at ZO2’s Rock Asylum on Wednesday, January 19 at the Canal Room in New York City. Rock Asylum, New York City’s premiere hard rock festival will feature ZO2, Sweet Cyanide and Diablo Royale, three of NYC’s hottest rock bands. The event was hosted by Cherioke of Rubix Kube — the ultimate 80’s Tribute — and featured a rock fashion show, renowned heavy metal DJ Alex Kayne, cool giveaways and more. There was even an air guitar contest where a hot blond girl won because she air strummed Jimi Hendrix’s “Foxy Lady.” In addition, every ticket sold in advance sponsors a kindergarten kid from P.S. 52 in Brooklyn to attend a concert that the Z Brothers — ZO2’s alter ego kid’s band — will donated to the school on January 18. ZO2 members Paulie Z., David Z. and Joey Cassata, stars of IFC’s hit television comedy series “Z-Rock,” play a rock band by night and a children’s party act, the Z Brothers, by day. However, the show mirrors the group’s real life. The Z Brothers have been performing together for 10 years. Paulie, David and Joey formed ZO2 in 2002 and have released three news songs in the last three months: Heart of Confusion, I Will be Alright and A Million Pieces — all available on I-Tunes — as well as three albums: Tuesdays and Thursdays; Ain’t it Beautiful; and Casino Logic. ZO2 has toured with KISS and Poison and opened for acts such as Bret Michaels and Alice Cooper.
